Conclusion

While we were looking at Fox News videos, most of what was found turned out to be truthiness. In contrast Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart take a more comical approach to the news. Yet the news they broadcast, from what we found, was more truth and fact based. Although the majority of Americans think Fox News provides a "fair and balanced" approach, in reality they provide the opposite. Fox seems to frame each news story in they way they want it to be perceived, not in the factual way it should be. Like we stated, Comedy Central does the opposite, using actual facts to back up their stories.

"Fox News isn't necessarily telling a out right lie, but they aren't telling the full truth. To me it seems their reporting on what the want us to hear and showing us what they think we should see. They do claim to be fair and balanced, but in the end we're human beings we will always fall back on what we know and feel. There is no story that can't be 100 % unbiased. I think that many of us just take it in, without questioning the facts. It would do a lot of good to second guess some of the things we see on the news."

" In the assignment, Immigration Blog, I have discovered that we cannot believe everything we hear. As I reviewed Fox News Videos, I discovered that they were discussing facts (Truthiness) that were not even true! It is our job as consumers of the media to find out the truth and not believe what we are told. As my professor said, You are being lied to!"

“Through this experience learning about the framing that FOX news does, versus the exact truth that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert gives the viewers, I learned to not quite believe the facts  FOX news gives until I get more evidence to prove if it is truth or truthiness. Having to know what is right rather than having a sense of it is the feeling FOX news gives. I know from here on out to have various amount of sources to find the truth.”

"I have learned that I cannot trust Fox News and that I need to be careful not to believe everything they say. I have learned that the Colbert Report and Jon Stewart have more truth then the actual news. I will be sure that I know the whole story and not just part of the story. I was surprised as to how much the news leaves out part of the story."

"From this project I have learned that I can't trust everything that is on Fox News. I need to realize that Fox frames each issue in the way they want us to see it, not the way it really happened. I need to take a more democratic approach when watching news, rather than believe everything shown on television. I will no longer just go with the flow, I will check the facts before I believe something."
